What is your favorite song to perform to?

What is your favorite song to perform to? Why? Does it have special meaning to you?

"Ain't That A Kick In The Head." I love singing that song... it's my favorite Dean Martin song.

I also enjoy "Beyond The Sea," and there are a ton of Sinatra tunes I love singing as well. The first Sinatra tune I learned was "Summer Winds," so that's an emotional favorite, too.

I usually perform to the same music Dita performs to. It's classy and great for a striptease.

The song I've been performing to the most lately has been "Taki Rari" by Yma Sumac. I adore Yma. I've done acts to other songs by her in the past. She is delightfully odd, rhythmic and lyrical all at the same time.

"Lament" has a special place in my heart as it's the first song I ever used for a striptease. I think about half the burlesque community has, at some point, pulled off a routine to some version of "Lament".

Another of my favorites is Eartha Kitt's "I Want to Be Evil." I also heart Eartha and her purrrrrrrr.

I agree with "Sugar in My Bowl" its a top track...
However, I'm trying to find the ORIGINAL version, or at least a pre-Xtina version of "I am a Good Girl" - any clues? would be greatly appreciated

You can rip the music from this for a cheap mp3 from...
http://www.video2mp3.net/

They are clean copies. Some converters cant be trusted and give you a virus to be careful.

Thanks keerie_k, I'll try that and see if I can clean it up and increase the quality, but I'd really like to get a clean copy... without audience - in otherwords, I guess a 'studio' recording.... if one exists.. I'll keep trying

I believe the original "I want some sugar in my bowl" is by Nina Simone, and it's on her Greatest Hits CD. Love that song. :)
